The new ATEX approved portable ultrasonic flow meter, available exclusively from ABLE Instruments & Controls, provides up to 24 hours* of uninterrupted liquid or gas flow metering on a single charge. The optional "continuous flow" battery pack provides ongoing flow metering with minimal downtime during battery change.
With its newly designed power source and rugged aluminium case, this self-powered precision transit time flow meter has been engineered to provide usability in hazardous environments without the need to obtain a hot work permit. The compact flow meter weighs less than 25kg making it suitable to carry onboard a helicopter for offshore service. |

The quick install clamp-on ultrasonic transducers use award winning WideBeam® technology for accurate and reliable flow metering with high tolerance to wide flow velocities, fluctuating pressure and temperature, and entrainment. The flow computer provides all the features, data logging and outputs expected from the latest in ultrasonic flow metering technology.
Unique zero-matic® path software eliminates all zero drift and allows zero flow to be set without the need of shutting down the flow or blocking pipe lines making this new ATEX portable flow meter ideal for applications such as check metering, flow surveys, flow verification, and liquid flow analysis.

The ABLE range of portable ultrasonic liquid and gas flow meters reflect the latest in flow measurement and metering technology for non contact (clamp on) volumetric and mass flow metering. Virtually any liquid flow and gas flow, in any environment, can be measured.
ABLE’s unique WideBeam Ultrasonic clamp-on flow meters, offer the most advanced, accurate, and reliable ultrasonic metering technology for liquid flow applications.
ABLE’s flow meters simplify liquid and gas flow measurement using high accuracy transducers which clamp-on to the external wall of the pipe. The flow meters are ideal for applications where interruptions to flow or modification of existing pipe work must be avoided.
The unique WideBeam technology uses the pipe wall as a waveguide to optimise the signal to noise ratio. This technology increases precision by reducing the sensitivity to any change in medium type or pressure. In addition, the flow meter is immune to most pressure reducing valve noises.
The WideBeam technology “Frequency Matches” the transducer to inject the ultrasonic waves into the pipe rather than the Shear-Mode used in conventional ultrasonic flow meters. As a result, use of the pipe wall as the transmitter provides a much wider sonic beam than available from narrow-beam (shear-mode) technology. The wide beam is intrinsically less affected by the ‘blowing’ of the sonic beam caused by high flow rates and provides a reliable, stable signal for continued performance under the most difficult process conditions. Similarly, contaminants such as aeration will not interrupt the entire wide beam as they will with narrow beam flow meters.
With shear-mode technology, the signal is injected into the pipe wall at one frequency, regardless of pipe wall thickness. The transducers remain the transmitting device and use the pipe wall as a medium between the transducer and the fluid. The fixed frequency does not match the characteristics of any pipe, which limits the performance of the shear mode flow meters making them susceptible to low or complete loss of signal and failure of the flow meter.
ABLE’s flow meters also come with built-in analytical software, offering diagnostic capabilities delivering crucial information about the application and meter performance.
