Continuous Level Monitoring Systems
Request a Quotation here

Our continuous level measurement solutions ignore the effect of buildup or material coating on the sensing element. The technology, R.F. admittance, employed by these products indicates level of media or interface level, making it by far the most versatile technology. This technology is good for a very wide range conditions from cryogenics to high temperature, from vacuum to 10,000 psi pressure and it works with all types of materials.

CM-3 Cut Monitor

with 409-1000 series electronics

The CM-3 Cut Monitor is a “smart” Cut Monitor. It monitors the efficiency of oil/water separation vessels by measuring the percentage of water in oil. With its precise indication of water percentages from 0 to 50%, the CM-3 Cut Monitor can be used to indicate the effectiveness of wash tanks, freewater knockouts, heater treaters, and other separation vessels.

That information can be used on a “LACT” unit to divert “wet” oil for additional processing/separation with ranges as low as 0 to 1%. In addition, the monitor has been employed on automatic well testers operating up to 80% water. The addition of digital processing and memory allows for linear ranges of 0 to 30%, 0 to 50%, or 0 to 80% water in oil.

The indicating transmitter is factory-calibrated for each application and easily adjusted for seasonal product and temperature changes using Drexelbrook’s PC interface and HART® protocol. The transmitter’s design minimizes paraffin build-up, simplifying and reducing the need for sensing element cleaning.

The monitor’s sensing element is designed for easy installation through a tee in a vertical section of the vessel’s outlet piping, which permits simple cleaning, inspection, and removal without having to drain the line. The monitor’s 316SS sensor has no insulation to blister, peel, or abrade, and its measurement is unaffected by changes in ambient temperature.

The CM-3’s is unique in its ability to avoid false “low-water” readings when overloaded by conductive fluids, setting it apart from similar instruments.

RF Admittance - SLT II

509-55 series level transmitter with
409-1200 series electronics

The 509-55 series Honeywell Protocol, Smart Level Transmitter is designed to handle the same applications as the 508-45 series but provide the benefits of a smart transmitter.

Benefits include: The ability to calibrate from anywhere in the loop (even the control room); calibrate using any two known points, (no need to empty and fill the tank); and to have the output strapped in volume units such as gallons in a horizontal vessel.

The 509-55 series can be calibrated with the standard Honeywell handheld calibrator from a PC.

True Level III

509-85 series level transmitter with 409-2000 series electronics

The 509-85, True Level III series is a HART® protocol smart transmitter that is designed to handle all homogenous liquids where the material properties change over time. The 509-85 needs no calibration no matter how the material properties change. As a smart HART protocol transmitter it has all the benefits found in our other smart transmitters. The 509-85 series can be calibrated with standard hand held calibrators such as the Rosemount 268, 275 or from a laptop PC. A Device Description (DD) is available for the model 275 calibrator.

Universal II

508-45 series level transmitter with 408-8200 series electronics

The 508-45 ( Universal II™ ) series transmitters are all purpose analog output continuous transmitters designed to measure the level of liquids, granulars, slurries, and liquid/liquid interfaces. Measurements are independent of density and these transmitters have patented Coteshield™ circuitry to enable the transmitter to ignore the presence of buildups on the sensor. The output is 4-20 mA proportional to level.

Universal III

509-75 series level transmitter with 409-1000 series electronics

The 509-75 ( Universal III ™) series is a HART® protocol smart transmitter that is designed to handle the same applications as the 408-8200 series but provides the benefits of a smart transmitter. These benefits include the ability to calibrate from anywhere in the loop (even the control room); calibrate using any two known points, (no need to empty and fill the tank); and to have the output strapped in volume units such as gallons in a horizontal vessel.
